This is a great way to supplement your income or make a full time income working from home. If you are looking to start a gutter cleaning business, it is appropriate to know how to give estimates and know how much gutter services cost. This article explains 4 different ways to give estimates for gutter cleaning.
One way is to charge a set price, plus or minus a small amount depending on how difficult or how easy you think the job will be. For instance start out with a set price of $120 and then charge between $70 and $170 depending on how long you think it will take you to complete the job.
The next way is to calculate the price based on the total square footage of the house. Some feel this is a fair way to charge because a two or three is more dangerous then a 1-story. Estimate rates will equal the square footage on the house time 4 to 6 cents per foot. This makes a 2,500 square ft house between $100 and $150 and the 3,000 between $120 and $180.
The third way to give an estimate for cleaning gutters is to charge a minimum for the appointment for showing up plus and a fixed rate per linear foot of gutter. For example, you may charge $50 for showing up plus $.50 per foot so for 200 ft gutters, this is equal to $50 + $100 or $150.
The last way to charge for gutter cleaning is to charge by the hour, or how long you think it will take you to complete the job. Most jobs take between 1 and 4 hours. People expect you to charge between $30 and $50 an hour. After you have done your first ten jobs, this will be a really easy method to use.
